Fibrosis (sclerosis) of the prostate: symptoms and treatment

  • Groin pain
  • Pain during ejaculation
  • Discomfort during intercourse
  • Semen blood
  • Unpleasant urination
  • Weak erection
  • Decreased libido

Prostate fibrosis (another name for sclerosis of the prostate) is an ailment that often affects representatives of the strong half of humanity. It develops in men from various age groups. It is characterized by inflammation of the urethra, which develops as a result of the rapid growth of connective tissue. The more it grows, the more the seminal and urinary channels will be compressed. All this is fraught with a violation of the urination process, as well as the occurrence of problems in sexual activity.

Fibrous prostatitis develops in the body of a man in the presence of the following factors:

  • arteriosclerosis of blood vessels
  • a history of chronic prostatitis,
  • allergic reactions
  • promiscuous sexual activity. Especially often, a disease develops if intercourse occurs irregularly,
  • malfunctions of the immune system,
  • hormonal disorders
  • lack of sexual intercourse.

Prostate fibrosis has its own classification. Clinicians use it to more accurately formulate a definitive diagnosis. Based on the histology of the disease, the following forms are distinguished:

  • focal sclerosis of the prostate,
  • prostate fibrosis, which is combined with adenomatous nosodal hyperplasia,
  • fibrosis together with atrophy of the parenchyma,
  • fibrosis followed by cyst transformation.

The disease has several stages of development, each of which has its own clinical picture:

  • on the 1 stage sclerosis of the prostate manifests the first signs of impaired urination. If at this time you see a doctor and carry out treatment, the prognosis will be positive and the man will again be able to have a full sex life,
  • on the 2 stages functional malfunction of urine
  • 3 stage. During this period, the first morphological changes begin to occur in the organs of the genitourinary system,
  • on the 4 stages changes affect the ureters, seminiferous tubules, kidney parenchyma and bladder. Symptoms of the disease are very pronounced. The only true treatment method that will help get rid of fibrosis is surgery.

For prostate fibrosis, the following symptoms are characteristic:

  • during ejaculation, the patient feels a sharp pain,
  • during urination, the man feels significant discomfort,
  • after ejaculation in the sperm there may be blood,
  • discomfort is felt during intercourse,
  • erection worsens. In more severe cases, a man completely ceases to feel arousal, as his libido decreases,
  • aching pain in the perineum and groin.

If you do not diagnose the pathology in time and do not pass the necessary course of treatment, then various complications can occur. For example, renal failure, pyelonephritis, hydronephrosis. In most clinical situations, the disease is complicated by chronic prostatitis. Symptoms will be very pronounced, so the disease will not be difficult to diagnose. But it also happens that prostate sclerosis occurs without a single symptom, and this complicates its diagnosis. If you do not deal with its treatment, then this is fraught with the development of serious complications, including renal failure.

If at least three of the above symptoms are found, it is recommended to immediately seek medical help at the hospital.

  • rectal examination. Using this method, a urologist will be able to establish the presence or absence of inflammation and proliferating connective tissue,
  • MRI
  • cytology,
  • transrectal ultrasound. A unique technique that allows you to accurately determine the size of the prostate gland, its localization in the pelvis of a man, as well as obtain data on how close it is to other organs,
  • CT
  • prostatography. The technique makes it possible to confirm or refute the presence of fibrosis, prostate adenoma or tumors,
  • urethroscopy
  • cystoscopy,
  • radioisotope study.

Treatment of prostate sclerosis can be either conservative or surgical. Doctors often treat him with conservative drugs. In therapy, antibiotics, NPPs, vitamins, and synthetic medications are used, the effect of which is aimed at improving blood circulation. Physiotherapy is also shown. A good effect is given by prostate massage.

Surgical treatment is resorted to if stones pass through the urinary canals. In case of illness, they become narrower due to the fact that they are compressed by overgrown connective tissue, so stones cannot pass. In this case, the perineal section is performed by the surgeon and the stones are removed.

Now the most effective treatment for the disease is laser therapy. The procedure is completely painless. Tissues surrounding the prostate are not injured. With its help, you can completely eliminate the cause of the disease in a short period of time. This innovative technique has been used for several years and during this time has proved its effectiveness.

Predisposing factors for prostate fibrosis

There are several factors contributing to prostate fibrosis:

  • the formation of inflammatory infiltrate due to trauma (surgery, iatrogenic damage, diagnostic tests, etc.), STIs, prostatitis, urolithiasis,
  • abnormalities of the development of the genitourinary system,
  • atherosclerosis,
  • undergoing radiation therapy to the pelvic organs,
  • congestion: lack of regular ejaculation, varicose pelvic organs, low locomotor activity,
  • hereditary predisposition
  • autoimmune diseases
  • allergic reactions
  • toxins
  • taking hormones
  • endocrine diseases: type 2 diabetes mellitus,
  • aging with a change in hormonal levels.

Fibrosis at a young age can lead to negative changes in the spermogram and infertility.

The main mechanisms:

  • Atherosclerosis: venous congestion - hypoxia - activation of the collagen synthesizing function of fibroblasts.
  • Stones and traumatization: intraprostatic reflux - atrophy and the inflammatory process - prostatolithiasis (stones in the prostate gland) - enhanced synthesis and replacement of defects with fibrous connective tissue.

Fibrosis can be considered as an erroneous process of wound healing, characterized by activation and accumulation of myofibroblasts.that temporarily occur in many tissues, as part of a normal reaction to a violation of integrity. Several types of cells, including fibroblasts, pericytes, fibrocytes, and mesencimal cells, are able to transform into myofibroblasts. Common signs of differentiation of myofibroblasts are the expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and type I collagen, an ECM component encoded by myofibroblasts.

Myofibroblasts with α-SMA form focal adhesions with the surrounding collagen ECM. Subsequent closure of the wound reduces the mechanical load potentially felt by α-SMA, which are considered mechanosensory proteins, which leads to the dissolution of focal adhesions, disassembly of α-SMA and possible apoptosis of myofibroblasts. If wound closure does not occur, myofibroblasts do not receive a mechanical signal for apoptosis and continue to accumulate and precipitate ECM, thereby replacing normal fibrous tissue.

Fibrosis occurs after inflammation, it is considered a natural process of wound healing, which is characterized by the accumulation of myofibroblasts, collagen deposition, extracellular matrix remodeling (ECM), increased tissue density and loss of elasticity

Symptoms and signs of prostate fibrosis

The clinical picture is diverse, there are no pathognomonic complaints. Similar symptoms occur in all diseases associated with difficulty urinating against obstruction of the lower urinary tract:

Complaints worth paying attention to:

  • changes in the quality of the urine stream and frequent urination,
  • discomfort in the perineum, lower abdomen,
  • erectile disfunction,
  • change in the quality of the ejaculate: a decrease in volume, viscosity, color, impurity of blood, etc.,
  • pain during sexual contact,
  • infertility.

Complications that can develop against the background of prostate fibrosis:

  • relapse of chronic diseases of the urogenital tract,
  • urinary incontinence or retention,
  • chronic renal failure
  • hydronephrotic transformation of the kidneys.

How is prostate fibrosis diagnosed?

For the diagnosis of fibrosis (sclerosis) of the prostate, all methods of examination for prostatitis are used, but the criterion that would confirm the final diagnosis is a biopsy.

Initially, during a visit to the appointment, the doctor will evaluate all complaints, conduct an external examination and transrectally palpate the prostate gland. If the disease is at an advanced stage, the amount of prostate secretion during massage will be minimal.

To improve the accuracy of diagnosis, before delivery of juice of the prostate gland, it is necessary to refrain from ejaculation for 2-3 days.

Instrumental diagnostics

  • Doppler ultrasound of the prostate, monitoring of residual urine,
  • MRI
  • Ultrasound of the kidneys
  • vasovesiculography,
  • urethrocystoscopy.

It is not necessary that when contacting a doctor, all of the above methods for the diagnosis of prostate fibrosis will be performed. The examination scheme is determined by a specialist in each case individually.

The main causes of prostate fibrosis

Fibrosis in the prostate gland is understood as a pathological condition in which healthy, glandular tissue of an organ is replaced by connective tissue (scars). In this way, the body tries to stop the inflammatory process and stop further damage to healthy tissues. However, scarring of the prostate inevitably leads to a deterioration or loss of its functions.

The causes of prostate fibrosis are many, the most common are:

  • chronic bacterial prostatitis,
  • injuries or surgery on the gland,
  • allergic reactions, including to drugs,
  • sexually transmitted infections
  • some hormonal disorders.

In addition to the immediate causes of pathology, there are also predisposing factors. It is believed that the risk of prostate fibrosis is higher in men who have a promiscuous, intimate life, with a history of atherosclerosis or impaired immune function.

Prolonged abstinence from intimacy can also be harmful and lead to fibrosis. In this case, stagnation processes in the prostate that cause congestive prostatitis, as well as hormonal disorders, are to blame. Masturbation, as a replacement for a full sexual intercourse, will not bring any benefits.

The main symptoms of fibrosis

Prostate fibrosis is characterized by a long asymptomatic period, so it is quite difficult to identify it in the early stages. A man visits a doctor only when the symptoms listed below become pronounced and significantly impair the quality of life.

  • pain in the perineum, lower back or pubis,
  • burning or cutting while urinating,
  • violations of the outflow of urine, including enuresis or delay,
  • early ejaculation
  • erectile dysfunction.

Similar symptoms may indicate other diseases, for example, benign prostatic hyperplasia. Part of the problems inherent in prostate cancer, such as blood impurities in urine or semen. Therefore, instrumental diagnostics cannot be dispensed with.

What new developments are being made to treat prostate fibrosis?

Some experts believe that antifibrotic drugs can be effective in treating / slowing the progression of prostate fibrosis and restoring an adequate outflow of urine against the background of obstruction of the lower urinary tract.

Some antifibrotic drugs are currently in preclinical or clinical trials for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.. Pirfenidone, which targets TGF-β, is approved for use in Japan and the European Union. A therapy designed to inhibit the activity of specific inflammatory proteins such as TNF-α (etanercept), interleukin-13 (QAX576) and CCL2 (CNTO-888) is in clinical trials of phase II. These new substances are designed to interfere with the activity of specific proteins that promote the phenoconversion of myofibroblasts or ECM production, including TGF-β1, connective tissue growth factor, lysyl oxidase, interleukins, CC-type chemokines, integrins and signaling proteins (e.g. JNK and Jak2). Some of these substances may be useful in treating urinary tract dysfunction supported by fibrosis in men without surgical ablation.

It is possible that the methods of introducing the latest drugs will not be systemic, substances will affect the desired tissue by instillation into the bladder or injection into the prostate.

Thus, tissue inflammation caused by aging, infection, or other processes is associated with the subsequent development of fibrosis in the prostate gland, which leads to impaired function of the urinary organs.

In some cases, the pathological process can be prevented or slowed down, but attention is paid to the treatment of the underlying disease.

Regular sex life, the only trusted partner, physical activity and annual preventive examination by a urologist will help a man maintain his health.

How to treat prostate fibrosis

Traditionally, fibrosis therapy is selected for each man, there are no general treatment regimens for this disease. It all depends on how strongly the signs are expressed, the stage of the pathology, the provoking factor, and a number of other points. Drug therapy, physiotherapy, and surgery can be used. As for folk remedies - some of them are acceptable for strengthening the main method of treatment or strengthening a weak immune system. Let's consider each approach in more detail.

Drug therapy

The use of drugs for fibrosis has two goals: combating the root cause of the pathology (if it can be so affected) and eliminating unpleasant symptoms. At the same time, the choice of a drug largely depends on the results of laboratory tests.

For the treatment of the disease can be prescribed:

  1. Antibiotics - if, according to the results of a study of prostate secretion or bacteria, bacteria are found in the urine.
  2. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - help stop the pathological process and reduce the severity of symptoms.
  3. Preparations for the removal of spasm - No-spa, Papaverine in the candlelight.

In case of urination disorders, alpha-adrenergic blockers can be prescribed, which act on certain receptors of the genitourinary system. However, these funds should be used with caution, bearing in mind their ability to drastically lower blood pressure.

If hormonal disorders are detected in the body, the doctor may prescribe hormone therapy. This is usually necessary when changing the level of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone.

The use of physiotherapy

After the relief of pain symptoms, a physiotherapy course may be recommended to the patient. It will help curb the inflammatory process, and will also contribute to faster regeneration of damaged tissues. This method is more effective in the early stages, and in advanced cases it is not able to give a significant positive result.

Depending on the symptoms and type of fibrosis, the doctor may refer the patient to the following procedures:

  • electrophoresis - stimulation of prostate tissue by a current of a certain frequency with the simultaneous administration of a drug through the skin,
  • magnetotherapy - an innovative method based on the possibilities of a magnetic field,
  • Ultrasound therapy - exposure to the prostate with ultrasonic waves,
  • galvanization - a method similar to electrophoresis,
  • phototherapy.

As for rectal massage of the prostate using the apparatus - in the case of fibrosis, it is not done. An exception may be cases of stagnation of the secretion of the prostate in the body, however, and here the doctor will apply a similar method only as a last resort. The effectiveness of rectal massage has not been proven, because it is rarely used.

Some methods of physiotherapy are not prohibited, but do not have sufficient effectiveness. For example, warming with UHF or warm microclysters will help only with the inflammatory process, but will not stop the proliferation of connective tissue.

The same applies to physical therapy. With its help, you can speed up recovery, reduce the risk of recurrence of inflammation, but it will not work on the root cause of fibrosis. Exercises used for prostatitis will help here, but only as a prophylactic. The use of Kegel exercises in the case of fibrosis is doubtful.

Surgery for fibrosis is an extreme measure. It is carried out only if medications do not help and the man becomes worse. It is also indispensable in the case of the third and, especially, fourth stage.

In modern surgery, various techniques are used, including minimally invasive ones:

  1. Prostate TUR - an organ is excised completely or partially with the help of special equipment inserted through the urethra.
  2. Prostatectomy is radical or partial. It can be done through open access or endoscopic method.
  3. Laser exposure - evaporation of prostate tissue by a beam of certain parameters.

Often used laparoscopic methods. In this case, a special device, an endoscope, is inserted into a small puncture in the perineal region. It is equipped with a miniature video camera, the image from which is displayed on the monitor.

Under the control of the endoscope, using special tools, sections of connective tissue are removed with high accuracy, while healthy areas of the prostate are practically not damaged.

What is prostate fibrosis

Fibrous changes in the prostate gland are a structural transformation of its functional tissue (parenchyma) in response to pathological processes. Typically, the formation of the focus begins with inflammation or trauma. At the site of damage, increased collagen production occurs and a scar forms (like a scar on the skin). The larger it is, the faster the process spreads to healthy tissues. The sealed area compresses the adjacent ducts of the gland, the secret stagnates in them, becoming a favorable soil for the development of bacteria. In addition, compressed tissues lack nutrition, which accelerates the process of their pathological transformation.

It is not possible to determine exactly how long after fibrosis an injury or inflammation occurs. It all depends on the immune system, the presence of concomitant pathologies, ongoing therapy. Usually 1-2 months pass, as with scarring of the suture on the skin. Fibrosis may not form at all, since not all people after injuries form keloid scars.

Types of Prostate Fibrosis

Prostate fibrosis is classified according to various characteristics: the location of the foci, their structure, the cause. The process can be primary (congenital pathology), secondary (caused by diseases) and provoking. In the latter case, the fibrosed sites themselves become the cause of the disease. Such tissues are prone to accumulation of deposits (calcifications), which leads to the development of fibrocalcinosis. Symptoms are significantly increased, inflammation of the prostate develops with concomitant complications.

According to the location of the foci

The following types of prostate fibrosis are distinguished at the site of localization of the foci:

  • Central - sclerosed areas are located in the central zone,
  • Periurethral - the focus of connective tissue approaches the bladder,
  • Paraurethral - areas of densified tissue surround the urethra.

Fibrosis can occur in any lobe of the prostate. Focal fibrosis is diagnosed in cases where sclerotic changes undergo individual sections of the gland. This is the first stage at which the application of minimally invasive and drug treatment methods is possible. If there are several foci and they are point-like, then small-focal fibrosis is diagnosed. At advanced stages, separation by location is no longer possible.

According to the structure of formations (histological classification)

Fibrosed areas of the prostate differ in their structure. The most common form is focal fibrosis with hyperplasia. It represents a pathological proliferation of cells, while the newly formed tissue partially retains its functionality. Hyperplastic foci lead to an increase in the size of the prostate, compression of organs adjacent to it.

Atrophic fibrosis

Atrophic fibrosis, in contrast to hypertrophic, leads to a decrease in the size of the prostate. In this case, the tissues of the gland atrophy (muscle fibers weaken, the body loses its tone), then sprout with fibrous fibers. Usually this is due to a violation of the metabolism of sex hormones. Atrophic fibrosis most often develops in men after 50 years, when andropause begins to approach. Often combined with adenoma.

Cirrhosis fibrosis

Cirrhosis is the process of dying off the normal functional parenchyma of an organ (not just the liver) and replacing it with connective tissue. Prostate cirrhosis can occur against the background of infectious follicular or allergic prostatitis.

What threatens prostate fibrosis

By themselves, sites of prostate fibrosis are harmless - this is not a cancerous tumor. The danger lies in the consequences of proliferation:

  1. The ducts are compressed, the secretion stops, a man will not be able to conceive a child in a natural way.
  2. Fibrosis is not limited to the gland, but spreads to the neck of the bladder and urethra, causing acute urinary retention, intoxication of the kidneys, and then the whole body.
  3. Due to the constant incomplete emptying of the bladder, the structure and functionality of its walls are disrupted, stones form, and chronic cystitis develops.

A complication of cystic fibrosis can be infection of the contents of the cavities and the formation of an abscess.

Conservative methods

Conservative treatment of fibrosis is carried out in stages. First you need to provide high-quality drainage of prostate tissue. This is facilitated by regular ejaculation and bowel movements, massage, Kegel exercises, deep squats.

Next, you need to slow down the synthesis of scar cells. For this purpose, anti-inflammatory drugs and procedures are used:

  1. Short-wave inductothermy (ICT) - exposure to high-frequency magnetic waves.
  2. Laser therapy with a rectal nozzle (useless through the stomach).
  3. Medications: Diclovit suppositories, antibiotics, Tadenan (based on African plum bark, course 1-2 months). To facilitate urination, Omnic, Kardura, and Kornam are prescribed (4-6 weeks).

After removing the inflammation, it already makes sense to try to remove or reduce the size of the foci of fibrosis. Of physiotherapy, the most effective effect on the prostate is ultrasound through a rectal sensor, phonophoresis with Lidase, Chymotrypsin.

Pronounced anti-inflammatory and absorbable effects have therapeutic mud. At the beginning of the course they are not used to avoid exacerbation of inflammation. Mud is used as applications for the projection of the prostate (between the scrotum and anus), as well as rectal suppositories (they are weaker than tampons) and tampons (30-40 pieces per course).

A popular universal remedy for problems with the prostate are Longidaza suppositories. This is an enzyme preparation that improves blood microcirculation in the gland and enhances its cellular immunity.

The price in pharmacies is from 1578 rubles.

Particular attention is paid to nutrition. Drinks and foods that irritate the ureters and cause swelling should be excluded: spicy, salty, greasy, fried. An excess of caffeine and alcohol can provoke inflammation of the prostate. It is advisable to eat more leafy greens, fresh fruits.

High-quality conservative therapy relieves symptoms, but repeated preventive courses are needed once a year.

Folk methods

Alternative methods for prostate fibrosis are permissible only with the consent of the doctor and under his control. There is a risk of provoking further proliferation of tissues, especially massage.

  • Homemade propolis and beeswax candles,
  • Mud swabs and candles,
  • Parsley Infusion
  • Tincture on bee subpestilence, beaver stream.
Homemade propolis candles

A mixture of nuts with pumpkin seeds helps to improve the functionality of prostate tissue.

In fact, the measures for the prevention of prostate fibrosis are the same as for prostatitis:

  • Avoid stagnant processes in the pelvis (sports, Kegel exercises, sex),
  • Immediately treat prostatitis, without waiting for its transition to a chronic form,
  • Do not weaken the immune system with harmful foods, alcohol and nicotine.

Immediate prevention of fibrosis is timely therapy aimed at preventing the formation of scar tissue against the background of inflammation of the prostate. For this, simultaneously with the treatment of prostatitis, physiotherapeutic methods, anti-inflammatory and absorbable drugs are used. As a preventive measure, these measures are much more appropriate and effective than as an early treatment for an existing lesion in the prostate.

General concepts of prostate sclerosis

The prostate gland is an exocrine gland that has a complex structure of the tubular-alveolar type and performs the most important functions in the body of a man. Men's health and the psychological state of the stronger sex depend on the functional abilities of this organ. One of the pathological disorders that is a consequence of inflammatory diseases and the cause of irreversible processes is prostate sclerosis.

The term "prostate sclerosis" refers to a disease with specific morphological features, which are based on the degeneration of muscle and glandular tissue (tissue is replaced by connective epithelium). The structure of scar tissue is characterized by reduced functional properties, as a result of which the organ loses its ability to fulfill its main purpose - the development of a secret.

Sclerosis (or fibrosis) of the prostate is already the final stage of inflammatory diseases, the scar-sclerotic process is irreversible and leads to damage to the adjacent organs (bladder, kidneys, ejaculatory ducts). The age limits of this pathology are very wide - it affects men from 20 to 55 years old. The risk group includes people exposed to causative factors of the development of the disease.

Sclerotic lesions

Depending on the presence of associated diseases, sclerosis is classified into several forms that differ in specific symptoms and the nature of the clinical picture of the disease. The identification of individual classification groups serves as an opportunity for making an accurate formulation of the diagnosis, which affects the methods of treatment used. Histological fibrosis of the prostate is divided into the following groups:

Sclerosis-related pathology

Characterization of the form of the disease

Focal prostatic hyperplasia

A neoplasm develops from glandular epithelial cells or the stromal component of the endocrine gland, as a result of which the prostate enlarges

Diffuse change, characterized by depletion of parenchymal tissue of the prostate and a decrease in organ size

Formation of neoplasms in the form of small nodules from cells of the glandular epithelium, which increase and compress the urethra as the disease progresses

The formation of cysts in the gland - hollow tumor-like neoplasms filled with liquid contents

Changes in the structure of an organ by replacing muscle tissue with epithelial tissue can occur both in combination with and without allergic, infectious follicular, interstitial prostatitis.

Treatment Reviews

Ilya, 35 years old: “I was worried about pain during ejaculation, tingling in the groin. Ultrasound of the prostate revealed a site of fibrosis. Passed tests. The doctor said that there are no acute processes, with prostatitis, fibrosis is a natural phenomenon, nothing needs to be done. The answer did not satisfy, turned to another, he recommended mud candles. I bought Tambukan dirt in a pharmacy, sculpted candles myself. He underwent a course of treatment for about a month (daily at night by a candle), unpleasant symptoms disappeared. ”

Alexander, 41 years old: “The fibrous lesion was removed from the prostate by the TUR method in St. Petersburg at the VMA. Surgery was needed because problems with urination started, medications helped only temporarily. After the operation, the week was restored, then he underwent a course of treatment with Prostatilen and several sessions of ultrasound therapy. I don’t remember about the prostate for a year now. ”

You can ignore a small portion of fibrosis in the prostate - some are lucky and it does not progress. But in most cases, this focus will bother with dull pain for the slightest reason (hypothermia, alcohol, physical activity, frequent sex, change of weather), so it is better to keep it under control, soften using conservative therapy.

Surgical intervention

Before the appointment of surgical removal of the prostate, a complete diagnosis of the condition and functioning of all organs of the patient is performed. If the following pathologies are identified, the operation will be refused:

  • the last stages of chronic renal failure, when a cure is already unlikely,
  • acquired with age dementia (senility),
  • severe mental disorders
  • anemia,
  • exacerbation of concomitant diseases.

Surgical treatment of prostate fibrosis aims to normalize the flow of urine, which is achieved by excision of the affected organ. Methods of surgical intervention are prescribed based on the clinical picture of the disease and the presence of concomitant pathologies:

Sclerosis, aka prostate fibrosis: what is it, symptoms and methods of treatment

The inflammatory process of the chronic prostate can cause a man a large number of problems that have a negative impact on his whole life.

If the development of the disease is left to chance, then various complications begin to appear, as well as changes in the structure of the tissue of the prostate gland, which is known to doctors as prostate fibrosis.

Such a pathology usually leads to disruption of the functioning of the organ, contributes to the growth of tissue, the result of which is the complete incapacity of the gland, requiring immediate surgical intervention.

In today's article, we will talk about fibrosis of the prostate gland, the causes and symptoms of the disease, as well as its treatment options.

Fibrous changes in the prostate gland: what is it?

Prostate fibrosis, or as it is also called sclerosis of the prostate gland, is a consequence of chronic inflammatory processes.

Healthy prostate and fibrosis

Fibrous changes in the gland can threaten the appearance of a complication such as the termination by the body of its direct functions. This is due to the fact that active tissues are transformed into connective tissues and no longer produce secretions of the gland.

This is caused by protracted infectious processes caused by bacteria or stagnation in the veins. When the disease progresses, proliferation of connective tissue occurs, which only exacerbates inflammation. With the development of such a scenario, only the use of a surgical treatment technique can help.

Sclerosis and prostate fibrosis: the same thing or not?

If you do not take measures for the timely treatment of pathology, then the function of the genital organ may be completely lost.

In addition, fibrous inclusions spread to neighboring tissue, as well as the appearance of dynamic and mechanical disturbances in the functioning of the genitourinary system.

If the disease continues to progress, then a violation of the patency of the prostatic part of the urethra, neck of the bladder, ureter, pyelonephritis and renal failure is diagnosed.

Symptoms depending on the stage of pathology

Symptoms of prostatic fibrosis are accompanied by a violation of the urination process of varying severity.

When scarring of the tissue begins, the elasticity of the organ is lost, squeezing the bladder, urethra, located nearby, which is manifested by specific signs.

A man may notice various disorders during urination. The frequency of going to the toilet can increase many times or significantly decrease.

Sometimes there is a drop in urine pressure, which leads to muscle tension to complete this action. Despite the systematization of visiting the restroom, a man does not lose the feeling of fullness of the bladder, its severity.

Moreover, urination sometimes occurs with pain and burning in the urethra. Sometimes there is spastic pain in the bladder.

Prostatic fibrosis occurs with a number of sexual disorders:

Pain in the bladder, perineum increases with stress, for example, during bowel movements.

How to treat?

The treatment course consists of the use of a conservative technique used in the preoperative or postoperative period.

For this reason, pharmacological agents are most often additional therapy.

In general, a sick man can take advantage of several options for curing a disease, from the progression of which a fatal outcome is sometimes possible. It is necessary to consider them in more detail.

Surgical Treatment

An operational way to eliminate the disease is:

  • resection of the infected area with transurethral access, that is, by cutting off part of the prostate through the urethra,
  • prostatectomy - transvesical removal of the altered tissue,
  • prostate vesiculectomy - used for damage to seminal vesicles,
  • adenomoprostatectomy - performed when prostate fibrosis occurs and prostate adenoma is diagnosed,
  • prostatectomy with simultaneous plastic urethra - appointed in the presence of strictures (significant narrowing),
  • laser therapy - Affects the affected area of the prostate without radical removal. The whole process is painless, does not lead to the destruction of organ tissue.

Folk remedies

The main course of treatment lasts for several months with interruptions up to 2 weeks.

The most common recipes for folk remedies:

  • pumpkin seeds- you need to eat 30 pieces every day before the main meal,
  • propolis - 40 grams of the product should be mixed with a cup of alcohol. Steam the resulting mass, measure 0.1 g of the product and add 2 g of cocoa. After that, make a candle and insert into the gut at night. The procedure lasts for 1 month at intervals of a month or 6 weeks,
  • parsley - apply both leaflets and seeds. The plant is added to soup, borsch, salad, while powder is made from seeds, which is added to boiling water, put on fire and held for at least 15 minutes. The resulting tincture is drunk 5 times a day for 1 tablespoon.

Possible complications and consequences for men

In other words, healthy tissues are replaced by connective, like a scar or scar.

Deformation does not allow the body to work normally, the number of healthy cells is reduced. Over time, iron ceases to function in full.

The result of a neglected disease is impotence, infertility, and sometimes the risk of malignant tumors.. However, the changes will affect not only the sexual sphere.

Partly, iron is an endocrine organ, for this reason a man with such an ailment suffers from cardiovascular diseases. The patient develops a tendency to reduce blood pressure, which increases the chance of a stroke.

Absolutely any man who wants to live a full life and enjoy it to the fullest, is simply obliged to control his health condition, and when there is the slightest deviation from the norm in the genitourinary system, immediately rush for qualified medical help.

One simple thing to remember is that the initial stage of the disease can be treated much more easily than the progressive stage with various complications.

  • Eliminates the causes of circulatory disorders
  • Gently relieves inflammation within 10 minutes after administration

Prostate Fibrosis

Due to the proliferation of connective tissue, compression of the prostate gland occurs. This process is nothing more than prostate fibrosis. As a result, there is a narrowing of the bladder - its neck and deferent ducts are deformed. Disorders during urination, observed with sclerosis of the prostate, lead to sexual dysfunctions.

Fibrous prostatitis - what is it?

With this ailment, against the background of proliferation of connective tissue, the prostate shrinks. The main cause of the onset of the disease is chronic inflammation.

Fibrous changes in the prostate disrupt the proper functioning of the organ, because the active tissue becomes connective, as a result, the secret is not produced, which is one of the components of sperm. All this is the result of a protracted infectious process that bacteria cause. The same goes for venous stasis.

Growing, connective tissue further worsens the inflammatory process. It is useless to treat fibrous prostatitis only with medicines - surgical intervention is required.

Varieties of fibrosis

There are several forms of fibrosis:

  • Sclerotic - focal and total,
  • infiltrative-parenchymal form,
  • interstitially alternative fibrosis.

In a complicated or uncomplicated form, the disease can be infectious or non-infectious. combined fibrosis is also possible. It all depends on the clinical picture of the disease. Irreversible processes require high-quality and proper treatment.

How does the disease progress?

Now that we know what fibrosis is, it's time to find out how it proceeds. At first, the disease may not occur. Most often, the development of the disease occurs against the background of chronic diseases of the genitourinary system. This applies to prostatitis. The thing is that with damage to the prostate in the presence of fibrosis, an inflammatory process begins in the gland, which leads to the development of reparative fibrosis, complemented by sclerosis.

Further, organs adjacent to the prostate are involved in the process. Vascular sclerosis affects the development of the disease. It appears in the prostate, depending on whether there is an infectious onset or is absent. Slowing blood flow is possible at any age. And yet, most often the disease occurs in middle-aged men.

The result of the disease is a disorder of sexual function. In the worst case, kidney failure is rapidly developing. Therefore, it is very important to consult a doctor on time so that treatment is prescribed immediately.

How is the diagnosis carried out?

  1. During a standard examination, a digital rectal examination is performed by a urologist. This makes it possible to diagnose a smooth, nodeless, asymmetric, dense gland. Sclerosed gland during massage does not secrete the secret of the prostate gland. This suggests that the prostate is not functioning properly.
  2. TRUSES - transrectal ultrasound, with which it becomes possible to determine the density, as well as the size of fibrosis. More accurate results can be achieved in the ensemble with MRI and CT.
  3. In the case when there is a strong violation of the erection, pain during orgasm, use vasovesulography, with which it is possible to identify the degree of spread of the disease to the seminal vesicles. This method allows you to determine the amount of surgical intervention.

How to deal with the disease?

After the diagnosis, the doctor prescribes treatment. If you turn to a specialist in time, then conservative methods can be effective. But most often, surgical treatment is required, the patient is undergoing surgery.

In order to improve the condition, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are included in drug treatment. It is necessary to take vitamins.

Effective in the fight against the disease prostate massage. During surgery, stones are removed, if necessary, a tissue section is performed.

The most effective treatment is laser therapy aimed at the affected areas. It is painless, does not damage the tissue, while managing to eliminate the cause of the disease.

Conservative drug treatment

Conservative drug treatment includes the following treatment methods:

Drug therapy - the patient is prescribed a course of anti-inflammatory and antibacterial drugs, vitamin complexes, alpha-adrenergic blocking agents, herbal remedies and general strengthening agents.

Surgical treatment

There are two most common methods for surgical treatment of prostate fibrosis:

  1. TUR (transrectal resection).
  2. TUIP (transrectal incision of the prostate).

Fibrosis is characterized by an increase in prostate tissue, which compresses the organs of urination. As a result, the outflow of urine is difficult and painful sensations appear. The problem can be eliminated only by dissection of compressive tissues. With incision, only two cuts are performed. The operation is carried out with a small size of the gland. Conducting TUIP has fewer risks of developing complications than TUR.

Resection is performed through the rectal opening using an endoscope.

TUR is performed for young patients with overweight, suspected cancer, or in the presence of concomitant prostate pathologies. The operation is performed under general anesthesia, and lasts from 1 to 2 hours, during which part of the prostate or organ is completely removed. In the first days after the operation, a significant improvement in the process of urination is noted.

Other types of surgery:

  • Prostatectomy - used for diffuse damage to prostate tissue and serious complications. The organ is removed using a laparoscope, it is less traumatic than the open method.
  • Prostatic vesiculectomy - The prostate is removed along with seminal vesicles. The operation is prescribed in the third and fourth stages of the pathology.
  • Adenomoprostatectomy - the affected area is removed in the presence of adenomatous scars.

Clinical indications for the use of surgical treatment:

  1. Ureterohydronephrosis. It is characterized by the expansion of the urinary tract due to the accumulation of a large amount of urine in them.
  2. Bladder-ureter reflux. A pathology in which urine from the bladder enters the ureters.

Symptoms of the disease

Symptoms of prostate fibrosis are disorders of urination of varying severity. When tissue scarring, the organ loses its elasticity and squeezes the bladder and urethra, which are located nearby, which causes the appearance of specific symptoms.

Men note various disorders of urination. The frequency of urge to the toilet can increase many times, or vice versa, decrease. Often there is a decrease in urine flow and the need for muscle tension in order to urinate.

Despite the frequency of visiting the restroom, the man is constantly tormented by a feeling of fullness and heaviness in the bladder. In this case, the process of urination may be accompanied by pain and burning in the urethra. During the day, spastic pain in the bladder may appear.

The disease is accompanied by a number of sexual disorders - decreased libido, inability to achieve orgasm or premature ejaculation, weakening or complete absence of an erection.

Pain in the perineum and bladder may intensify during exertion, for example, during bowel movements.

Problems with urination are a symptom of many prostate diseases.

Treatment principle

Drug treatment of prostate fibrosis is ineffective in the late stages of the disease. It is advisable to apply it at the beginning of the development of the pathological process. In therapy, antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antispasmodics are used. Be sure to prescribe drugs to improve blood flow to the prostate gland.

The first line of treatment is prostate massage. Patients are shown a massage course (10-15 procedures) to improve trophism and stimulate metabolic processes in the body. Physiotherapy is used quite successfully, for example, laser treatment of prostate fibrosis.

In the presence of pronounced changes in the tissues of the prostate, surgical treatment is practiced. Currently, laser treatment methods are widespread, involving the removal of areas of organ scarring without affecting healthy tissues. The following types of operations are practiced:

  • transurethral resection,
  • prostatectomy
  • adenomoprostatectomy,
  • vesiculectomy.

If there are calculi in the prostate, a prostatectomy is prescribed. How to cure prostate fibrosis is decided by the attending physician, based on the clinical manifestations of the pathology in a particular patient.

Methods of prevention and complications

The prevention of fibrosis comes down to the timely treatment of any diseases of the prostate gland. Particular attention is paid to the treatment of chronic prostatitis. Men often make the mistake of stopping treatment after the first noticeable improvement. Nevertheless, the inflammatory process does not stop, but only passes into a latent form, against the background of which fibrosis may develop over time.

The lack of a comprehensive treatment of prostatitis provokes fibrosis, which, in turn, causes dangerous complications - infertility, impotence, impaired renal function. There are cases when prostate fibrosis has become an indirect cause of the development of malignant neoplasms in the organ.

Until 10 august The Institute of Urology together with the Ministry of Health conducts the program "Russia without prostatitis"Within which Predstanol is available at a preferential price of 99 rubles. , all residents of the city and region!

Nutrition principles

There is no special diet for this disease, and recommendations are similar to any form of prostatitis or prostate adenoma.A man needs to exclude fried foods from the diet, give up alcohol, convenience foods, spices.

It is important to adhere to the following principles:

  1. Drink at least 2.5 liters of water per day.
  2. Steam, bake dishes in the oven or boil.
  3. Eat fractionally, 5-6 times a day.
  4. Do not eat foods with preservatives, dyes or flavors.
  5. Do not overeat.

Fatty meats are replaced with chicken, rabbit or veal. Porridge, nuts, honey are introduced into the diet.

The consequences of fibrosis for men and prevention

Prostate fibrosis does not directly threaten a man’s life, but can cause serious complications. First of all, this concerns the formation of stones due to impaired outflow of fluids and the development of calculous prostatitis, but other problems may appear:

  1. erectile dysfunction up to a complete lack of erection,
  2. pyelonephritis and cystitis,
  3. infertility,
  4. vesiculitis or orchitis,
  5. acute urinary retention and the resulting renal failure.

Therefore, special attention should be paid to the prevention of prostate fibrosis. You need to avoid erratic intimate contacts and prolonged abstinence, do not take antibiotics without prescribing, and do not self-medicate. Timely preventive examination allows you to identify pathology at an early stage and get rid of it.

4th stage

Signs of prostate fibrosis

This ailment is very difficult - there are sharp and severe pains in the abdomen and below - in the groin. With fibrosis, a man can detect blood in his urine or seed.

During urination, there is often a pain syndrome, and going to the toilet more often than usual. Burning sensation, poor sensations in the perineal area during sex, impaired erectile function - these signs appear later.

At the last stage of fibrosis, the desire to make love may disappear, and kidney disease often develops - insufficiency.

The clinical description of prostate sclerosis is similar to that of chronic prostatitis. At first, the disease often proceeds unnoticed. Symptoms of prostate fibrosis:

  • Rapid urination, especially at night.
  • Spontaneous urinary incontinence.
  • Sexual intercourse is reduced due to rapid ejaculation. There is also the difficulty of ejaculation.
  • An erection is weakened.
  • There is a decrease in libido.
  • Constant pain in the groin, above the pubis, in the coccyx, intensified during intercourse and urination.
  • Sperm becomes pink due to blood inclusions, hematuria is noted.

Symptoms of intoxication are increasing. They are manifested by fever, headaches, general weakness, irritability.

Symptoms of fibrous prostatitis

Many men are interested in how this disease develops. It is extremely difficult to differentiate, since its manifestations are very similar to signs of prostatitis.

To understand what this disease is - fibrosis, it is necessary to study its symptoms. Initially, the disease can occur without special manifestations. Here are the main symptoms of prostate fibrosis:

  • Frequent urination.
  • When urinating, pain or burning is felt.
  • Pain symptoms in the perineum, lower back and groin.
  • Problems with sexual function.
  • Discomfort during ejaculation.
  • An admixture of blood in semen.

Another name is fibrosis is sclerosis of the prostate gland. In some cases, the diagnosis of the disease is carried out according to its complications, such as pyelonephritis, cystitis, renal failure, impotence and urinary retention. Pathology can have a negative effect on the cardiovascular system, nervous, respiratory, liver and bones.

How to identify prostate sclerosis

Diagnosis of prostate fibrosis is established in various ways. The disease can be detected if the man has prostatitis. In this case, it can “grow” to fibrosis. If the patient complains of pain during the toilet. It can be said that he already suffers from this ailment. If you hold your fingers over the place where there is a prostate gland, then you can understand whether this disease is or not.

Laboratory testing is the main step to establish the presence of an ailment. A man must pass a general blood and urine test. If white blood cells and bacteriuria are outside the normal range, then we can say about the presence of inflammation of the organ. According to the results, determine the degree of this process. These units are responsible for inflammation of the organs.

TRUSS recognizes the size and structure of the prostate. This analysis determines how much urine is in the bladder and whether there are places that contain compaction. Radiography and ultrasound help to recognize fibrosis. These tests are done through the rectum.

Thanks to these studies, you can find out the exact picture of the patient's condition. Diagnosis looks at the degree of development of fibrosis, draws conclusions about the state of tissues, with the exception of information about an enlarged prostate. For this, the patient needs to undergo an MRI.

It is impossible to differentiate fibrosis from diseases with similar symptoms without the use of laboratory and instrumental methods. Diagnosis of pancreatic sclerosis is multifaceted.

A detailed patient survey, anamnesis and palpation method are the basis of the examination.

Palpation allows you to feel the enlargement of the gland, its unnatural density, but small focal changes cannot be detected. A rectal examination is contraindicated in acute hemorrhoids or anus fissures. To clarify the results, additional diagnostic methods are used:

  • Ultrasound examination and TRUS.

Ultrasound shows echoes of fibrotic changes, localization of pathology, but the nature of the formation remains unclear, since prostate sclerosis on the screen looks almost the same as organ cancer. Transrectal ultrasound is performed by introducing a special ergonomic sensor into the anus, but it is forbidden for hemorrhoids.

With the help of TRUS, fibrocalcinosis is successfully detected.

Surveys complement the previous ones. Methods allow you to determine the nature of fibrous inclusions in the prostate gland, to distinguish destructive changes from a cancerous tumor.

MRI is especially valuable in detecting early pathological changes in the organ. The study helps to clarify the size of prostate fibrosis.

Interpretation of the results is based on a visual determination of the structure of changes: heterogeneity is a sign of the infectious nature of prostate sclerosis, fibro-calcification changes.

Other clarifying methods: prostatography (administration of a contrast agent to assess the volume of the gland, determination of stones in the prostate), vasovesiculography (examination of seminal vesicles based on X-ray, which allows to assess the state of blood vessels). Urethrocystography is used to examine the bladder and kidneys.

The urologist prescribes laboratory blood tests (including PSA determination), urine, a spermogram, testing for the presence of sexually transmitted infections (urethral smear), and a study of prostatic secretion. If the level of PS antigen is increased, then the functions of the male gland are impaired. In the analysis of blood and urine, an increased number of white blood cells is alarming, in sperm - the presence of blood.

Diagnosis is mandatory. Compilation of a comprehensive medical history is important for the appointment of an examination, which consists of analyzes and examination using special tools. Urine and blood tests are prescribed to help detect lymphocyte count, calcium, and infections.

A smear is taken from the urethra, which allows you to identify possible sexually transmitted infections.

The following diagnostic methods are also carried out:

  • Digital rectal examination reveals compaction and size of the gland. An important sign is the lack of secretion during the procedure.
  • Ultrasound of the urinary organs and TRUS (transrectal ultrasound) allows you to determine the volume of the organ, the presence of stones, seals and various changes. If doubtful signs are observed, then computed tomography is performed.
  • Vasovesiculography is performed to clarify the diagnosis. It allows you to determine the spread of the disease. And also look at the functioning of blood vessels.

The examination reveals echoscopic and calcification changes in the parenchyma.

Focal fibrosis helps determine the diagnosis with an ultrasound examination. In this case, fibrous areas of increased echogenicity up to 8, 12 and 26 mm, edema and narrowing in mm are determined.

  • Digital rectal examination of the prostate gland.

This method is the basis for examining any patient with prostate diseases. With the appearance of sites of fibrosis in the prostate gland, the doctor notes a decrease in the volume of the organ, general compaction. The edges of the gland are uneven, but of a uniform consistency (this eliminates cancer). An important diagnostic sign is the lack of secretion from the gland during the massage.

  • Transrectal ultrasound

The technique allows to identify areas of compaction, to evaluate the volume of functionally active tissue. The doctor may see a significant decrease in gland size. In the presence of doubtful signs or the appearance of nodes, computer tomography should be additionally performed so as not to miss prostate cancer.

This examination is carried out according to indications to clarify the diagnosis and assess the degree of spread of the disease. Vasovesiculography allows you to look at the functioning of blood vessels and damage to the seminal vesicles. Thanks to the results of this method, the tactics of further therapy are selected.

Treatment of prostate fibrosis

At the moment, after confirming the diagnosis, doctors prescribe such drugs:

  1. antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. They help get rid of the focus of inflammation,
  2. adrenoblockers and antispasmodics. The latter provide an opportunity to relieve spasm,
  3. medicines that improve blood circulation and restore prostate function.

In order to get rid of the disease, you need to contact a urologist. Prostate fibrosis can only be cured with surgery. The doctor can plan your treatment. Describe the picture of the disease. Drug treatment is prescribed before surgery, this is necessary to prepare the body for surgery.

For surgery, the following indicators are needed: urinary retention, large bladder size, stones in it, poor urine outflow, renal failure, urine entering the seminal vesicles.

In addition to antibacterial drugs, the treatment of the disease can be carried out using folk remedies. Basic courses last for several months and have a break of up to two weeks. Stops can be increased up to three weeks.

Treatment with alternative methods is possible if you consult a urologist and subject to all stages of the prescription.

It helps to cope with inflammation. This medicinal herb has vitamins that a man needs. The plant is often used in cooking, added to soups, borscht, salads and sauces. In one hundred grams of grass there are 2 daily rates of vit. And that creates a great vision. Parsley has vitamin C. It is four times more than in citrus fruits.

This herb has inulin, which normalizes glucose. Parsley juice should be drunk one tbsp. l three times a day half an hour before dinner.

Plant seeds are also useful. Take a handful of seeds and rub them into powder, add boiling water, put on fire and hold the mixture there for 15 minutes. Take about five times a day for one tbsp. spoon.

We treat prostatitis with chestnuts

The chestnut shell cures this disease. She needs to be taken with spikes. Brew it all and drink it like tea. The disadvantage of this tool is that chestnuts increase the desire to eat, so you need to do enemas of 250 ml 2 times a week. The results are the same, only the appetite does not heat up.

Another way is to take those chestnuts that ripen in September. Chop the peel and three tbsp. l

pour a liter of boiling water on the floor. Leave it all overnight.

Filter the broth and evaporate to two hundred grams. This is done in a water bath.

You need to drink 30 drops daily. Drink the broth three times a day.

The course of treatment continues until the tincture is over. For complete recovery - repeat the procedure up to three times.

Store the mixture in a cool place.

Gives noticeable results in the treatment of the disease. The effect itself may appear in a couple of days.

If you are 50 years old, then you can dry the fruits for the winter, roll compotes. It is also suitable for the prevention of prostatitis.

Very useful in arousal, it increases the amount of seed. Onions brewed on potatoes are an excellent remedy for impotence. Mix seed powder in equal proportions with honey. Eat this one teaspoon 3 times a day. This mass perfectly treats prostatitis, which is accompanied by sexually transmitted diseases.

The easiest way is to treat cabbage. Traditional medicine recommends wraps from vegetable leaves. If you have signs of inflammation, then take a few leaves and roll them with a rolling pin. This is necessary in order for the juice to appear. Attach the leaves to the crotch, and leave the compress overnight. This method must be repeated a couple of times until the treatment has its effect.

In order to maintain men's health, it is necessary to carefully treat any changes in the body. Even small deviations should be noted immediately. If the genitourinary system is out of order, then this is the first sign that you need to go to the doctor. Any delay in visiting the doctor - can lead to complications. Begin treatment immediately after the first symptoms, do not delay the visit to a specialist.

Treatment depends on the stage of the disease. With degree 1-2 sclerosis, drug therapy, folk and physiotherapeutic methods are used. Massage with prostate fibrosis activates the secretion of the pancreas, which improves the functioning of the body. In advanced cases (stages 3-4), the disease is treated in a radical way.

Drug treatment

Medications stop the destructive process that has begun. They also help prepare for surgery and cope with its consequences.

Assigned to stop the infectious process. Medication is based on the use of antibiotics. Amoxiclav (15 tablets - 250-430 rubles) is used twice a day on a full stomach. Ceftriaxone (1 vial - 40 rubles) and Gentamicin (10 ampoules - 43 rubles) are used injection, 1-2 times a day. The course is 7-10 days.

  • Anti-inflammatory drugs.

The use of Longidase is justified: suppositories will help reduce swelling of the gland, dissolve prostate fibrosis in the initial stages. The cost of the drug is 1 700 rubles. For the same purpose, they use the suppositories “Prostopin” (680 rubles), “Diclofenac” (270 rubles), “Vitaprost” (915 rubles) and tablets “Thiotiazolin” (690 rubles). The duration of admission is determined by the urologist.

Vitamin complexes “Prostate Forte” (60 capsules - 900 rubles), “Duovit” (30 tablets - 480 rubles), and “Vitamax” (1,400 rubles) are used. They are drunk twice a day for 30 days. Herbal preparations are effective - Prostamol-Uno (30 capsules - 700 rubles), Prostamed (60 capsules - 640 rubles). The course of administration is 1-3 months, once at 24 hours.

The consequences of the procedure

The consequences of laser treatment of prostatitis are obvious, provided that it is combined with powerful drug therapy and other physical procedures. These include:

  1. Relieving pain and discomfort in the perineum and lower abdomen.
  2. Improvement of blood circulation and lymph outflow in an organ affected by inflammation.
  3. Elimination of congestion in the prostate gland.
  4. Strengthening the immune system.
  5. Improving the effectiveness of antibiotic therapy.

The energy of the laser beam in the treatment of prostatitis is appreciated by both doctors and patients. This therapeutic method has pronounced analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, which immediately increases the patient's quality of life. It also promotes rapid tissue regeneration. Laser therapy together with other methods of treatment allows you to get rid of prostatitis forever.

What can be the complications

Sclerosis of the prostate and fibrosis with calcification are in themselves serious complications of chronic prostatitis. If pathological changes are not treated, then a man is threatened with impotence, the risk of proliferation of malignant tumors is increased, fertility is irreversibly impaired.

Due to vascular problems, stroke, heart attack, fluctuations in blood pressure are possible. Fibrosis is dangerous by the irreversibility of diffuse transformations.

But timely treatment reduces the risk of complications, improving the prognosis. Timely undergo preventive urological examinations - take care of your health.

• chronic renal failure,
• acute urinary retention,
• chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis,
• hydronephrotic transformation of the kidneys,
• infertility
• urinary incontinence.
Sometimes the pathological process is asymptomatic, you can suspect a problem with a routine ultrasound examination of the prostate.

Many are wondering if such a dangerous disease can be prevented. At the same time, prevention is necessary. First of all, it consists in the timely treatment of chronic and acute prostatitis. It is necessary to undergo inspection at least once a year. Men are encouraged to lead an active lifestyle. Continuous sitting in one place can provoke an unpleasant disease.

With timely and proper treatment, the symptoms and development of the disease can be eliminated. In this case, it is necessary to observe regularity in therapeutic methods and compliance with all medical prescriptions.

1. Annual examination by a urologist and treatment of exacerbations,

Timely rehabilitation of foci of infection,
3. Regular sex life with a single partner (using a condom for casual sexual intercourse),

Blood sugar and cholesterol control
5. Sports and normalization of weight,

Rejection of bad habits,
7. Preventive massage and physiotherapy sessions (contraindication is calculous prostatitis).

What are the benefits and the cost

The cost of laser prostatitis treatment is slightly different depending on the type of procedure. But it will be much lower than the cost of laser vaporization and other methods of resection of the prostate using a laser beam. A comparison label for laser therapy prices is given below.

Type of prostatitis treatment technique

Rectal laser treatment

Laser urethral treatment

External laser treatment

The benefits of laser therapy in getting rid of prostatitis are obvious. These, as the reviews say, include:

  • Affordable price.
  • Lack of the slightest discomfort.
  • Low injuries.
  • Short course of treatment.
  • Lack of need for rehabilitation.
  • The possibility of carrying out at any stage of the development of the disease.
  • Strengthening the immune system.

The laser used in medicine provides an excellent opportunity to completely get rid of prostatitis. But provided that this is not the only method involved in his treatment.

Solving the problems of prostatitis can only be an integrated approach, which includes drug therapy, prostate massage, and folk remedies, and modern physiotherapy. Only in this case you can get a decent result.

The consequences of a lack of adequate treatment

Prolonged chronic prostatitis leads to prostate fibrosis. Therefore, it is very important not to delay the visit to the doctor, who after the examination will prescribe an adequate treatment regimen. Otherwise, serious negative consequences are possible:

In the absence of timely adequate treatment, sclerosis affects organs and tissues located nearby. There is a paraurethral lesion of the urethra, changes in the seminal canal occur. As a result of these processes, an infravesical obstruction occurs, which as a result leads to chronic renal failure. There are problems with the proper functioning of the genital apparatus.

It is impossible to treat glandular sclerosis only with medications - they are prescribed in the pre- and postoperative period. Sometimes even surgery is not a guarantee that tissue sclerosis will be stopped. Therefore, it is very important to contact a specialist as early as possible so that it is not too late to defeat the disease.
